Poetry

Couplets
David Welper

1.
I dreamed you called me.
Did you really call me? or was I really dreaming?

2.
I've yet to spell "beautiful" correctly without looking
down at a napkin on fire

3.
or is that something digital in your hand?
glitter on a club kid?

4.
Stop fussing with what to call something
and get it over with.

5.
There's an earthquake in California today.
It's tearing up men and putting them back together in odd ways.

6.
Something has a recipe and
Somewhere is out of luck.

7.
The lesbian eucalalie tunes in
for teenaged transgenderites.

8.
To use my honey whips,
just bring me a bottle of your best white.

9.
Tell him to cut the middleman:
sleep with no pillow and surely the tooth fairy will make him a real man.

10.
Before anything happens,
people will look through holes in their floors.

11.
All bridges open slowly
like a timid boy.
