On Asian Pears
Yung Seoul Kim

They're a muted yellow
And possess a nice heft.

A good waistline
Though rounded in the hips.

Hybrid of apple and pear
The bite of it firm and soft--

Pretty, even gamine,
In their shape: demure.

The things in this world
Accrue acres of beauty: accelerating.

They are fields
Of alert anthropology.

Pulsing quietly.
