Spiraling
Bill Stobb

Ten days of clouds and forty
in Wisconsin it's so
global warming it's
creepy I feel
relieved today
when cracks give contour
to the week's flat
gray       I've read it's people
assigning feelings to things
plainly there       Like day
                           Cloud and Sun
patterns on
winter's unnatural
January waning      Feeling's
hard                        Why try?
Something's out
I'm swimming in       Broadcast
news ripples this
warming globe warming
cup of tea I'm keeping
my thermostat down       Today's
hurricane's the latest on record.

You can do it
at home by dropping ice
in warm tea now
blow the surface so
very gently.
