Poetry

the sea
Megan O'Patry

Saw you watching the submit
submerge your dreams, saw you
squeezing the ocean like a dahlia
your epiphany: a stranded fisherman
in mute segue

Will not be Your
you and he is gone
departed for New Jersey
or some other New England
some fountain stained

The frozen ocean
pull fish out of hats
out of wholes, return
to the Cummerbund
rail snap: island imports

Meet you back inside
the salt, meet Your's gold lyric
stand, feet in honey sand

Again, rails nap, snapr ail
is tongue on Your's fish
ours and one hour below
